Athos 2008 Saint Panteleimonos Monastery

Saint Panteleimonos or “Russian” Monastery,was built in 1765.It is located on southwest side of the mountain Athos .its currently position is close to the sea in a small cove.
From the treasury of the monastery the most important are the icons of the Virgin of”Ierosolimitidos”,Saint Panteleimonos, and the mosaic icon of Alexander Nefski.
In the monastery also there is a luxuriant library including 1300 greek manuscript,600 slavian manuscript, and 2000 Greek and Russian books.
